Ball and Cross Tic Tac Toe, a Childhood Game Turned Table Art

Someone reworked the oldest game on the notebook margin into something worth displaying. The base is solid wood with clean grooved grid lines, and the letters are gone entirely. One player takes smooth spheres marbled in grey and white, the other counters with crisp matte white multi pointed crosses. Sculptural on their own and genuinely fun in play, the pieces make this set as much an object as a game.

Key Features

• Sculptural playing pieces: Marbled grey and white spheres against architectural matte white crosses, striking even sitting still.
• Solid wood base: A premium wood board with clean grooved grid lines that hold each piece steadily in place.
• Grooved placement: Recessed grid lines mean pieces stay where you put them instead of rolling off the board.
• Compact 20 cm square: Sized for a coffee table, office desk or shelf without taking over the surface.
• Family friendly: A quick, screen free game that works across generations at family gatherings.
• Handcrafted in India: Wood and high quality resin worked by hand, weighing a steady 650 g.

How to Style It

It looks best against darker surfaces, where the white crosses read sharply. On a study desk it becomes a small break between tasks, and on a shelf it works as a sculptural object even when the pieces are not arranged for play.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do the spherical pieces roll off the board?
A. No. The grid lines are grooved rather than printed, so each sphere settles into place and stays put during play and while on display.

Q. Are all playing pieces included in the set?
A. Yes. The wooden board and the complete set of spheres and crosses are supplied together, ready to play straight away.

Q. How should I clean the wood base?
A. Dust with a dry soft cloth and avoid damp wiping, which can raise the grain over time. Keep it away from direct sunlight so the wood tone stays even.

Q. Is it safe around young children?
A. The pieces are small and solid, so supervise children and keep the set away from those under three. For older children it is an easy, screen free game to learn.

Q. Would this work as a corporate or Diwali gift?
A. It suits both. It is neutral in styling, appropriate across age groups, and useful as a desk or coffee table object, which means it is unlikely to be quietly regifted.

Handcrafted in India by skilled artisans. Slight variation in pattern, grain and tone is natural and confirms that your piece was made by hand.
