Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a battery?
Yes, it runs on a standard battery. Replace it as soon as the clock starts losing time, and take the battery out if the clock is being packed away - a leaking cell is the commonest cause of damage to a decorative clock.
Is the open wire frame fragile?
It is sturdy for normal desk use, though the wire is the part to handle carefully when moving it. Lift it by the base rather than the frame.
Is it noisy?
It is a quiet analog movement suited to a desk or bedside. Any analog clock is audible in a completely silent room, but this is not a loud ticking mechanism.
Will the iron rust?
Keep it dry and it will not. Dust rather than wipe with a wet cloth, and avoid placing it on a damp windowsill during the monsoon.
Does it work as a gift?
Yes. Desk and shelf accents are among the easier gifts to get right - nothing to size, no taste to guess, and they suit a home or an office cabin equally. Common picks for Diwali, farewells and corporate gifting.
