Will a regular agarbatti fit in the holder?

Yes. The carved hole is sized for the standard agarbatti sticks sold in India. Thicker dhoop sticks may need to be angled slightly, and the hollowed leaf catches the ash as it falls.

Is the leaf shape strong enough at the narrow end?

It is carved from a single block rather than joined, so it is solid. Like any stone piece, the thinnest section is the most vulnerable to a fall, so place it down rather than dropping or sliding it.

Does incense ash leave marks on the stone?

Light ash wipes off with a soft damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use warm water with a drop of mild soap and dry the piece immediately - avoid bleach, acidic cleaners and steel scrubbers.

Can I burn dhoop cones on it?

You can. We suggest placing the cone on a small metal disc or a piece of foil so that resin and soot do not settle into the carving, and always keep the piece on a heat-safe surface.

Is each piece identical to the one shown in the images?

The design, size and finish stay the same, but natural stone carries its own grain and colour tone. Minor variation in shade, veining and carving detail is expected in hand-carved soapstone and makes each piece unique.
