Frequently Asked Questions
Is this made of real brass?
Yes. It is made of brass, the copper and zinc alloy traditionally used for Indian lamps. It weighs about 60 g per diya.
What is the size?
It is about 1.5 inch (3.8 cm) tall and fits easily on a mandir step or puja thali.
Which oil and wick should I use?
Use pure ghee or sesame (til) oil with a cotton wick. Fill the bowl about two-thirds, keep the lamp on a stable, heat-safe surface away from curtains, and never leave a lit diya unattended.
How do I clean and care for it?
Let the lamp cool, pour out leftover oil, wash with warm water and mild dishwash, and dry fully. To restore shine, rub with lemon and salt or a brass cleaning powder, then rinse and wipe dry.
Does the set come gift-packed?
Yes, the four deepaks are supplied together in a gift box, so they are ready to give for Diwali, weddings or house-warming visits.
